Staff and academics at the School of Graduate Studies
The School of Graduate Studies was established to provide students, faculty and administrators with a team that could guide them through the academic and administrative components of Concordia's graduate programs. From the time of admission to graduation, graduate programs are governed by standards and practices that are integral to ensuring an educational experience that is academically challenging and rewarding.
The staff and academics at the School provide students with graduate awards and fellowships assistance and information; thesis formatting and defence guidelines; and ensure that the academic code of conduct is respected at all times. The School offers assistance to graduate programs with scheduling doctoral defences, thesis binding; adjudicating graduate awards and liaising with external agencies; all aspects of student affairs, standards for graduate admissions, curriculum planning, new program development, to name a few.
The School is home to the Special Individualized Program, a unique interdisciplinary program that allows outstanding students to create their own program of study, drawing on research interests that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries. We are also working towards developing a more welcoming environment for postdoctoral fellows; to that end, we have created a special tab for individuals interested in pursuing postdoctoral research at Concordia University.
